What is smartphone diction?
Smartphone diction is when individuals spend majority of ir time on social media or playing games inste of interacting with people around m. Here’s what smartphone diction does to your brain
According to a recent study (published first in dictive Behaviours) undertaken by a group of German researchers, it has been revealed that smartphone diction physically changes shape and size of a brain in same manner as drug diction.
As part of research, scientists examined MRI scans of 48 people, out of which 22 people were identified as smartphone dicts whereas 26 were identified as n-dicts. Upon examination, MRI scans revealed that brains of those with smartphone diction have a lower grey matter volume in certain key parts of brain as opposed to n-dicts.

MRI scans also revealed that compared to controls, individuals who h an diction showed lower grey matter volume in ir left anterior insula, inferior temporal and parahippocampal cortex. Lower levels of grey matter volume in insula have been linked to substance abuse in various previous studies. researchers have stated this as physical evidence showing smartphone diction doing considerable dam to brain.
