Who was Dr Hubble ?
Edwin Hubble, after whom Hubble Telescope is named, used largest telescope of his day in 1920s at Mt. Wilson Observatory near Pasena, California to discover galaxies beyond our own. According to American ncy, it was him who first confirmed an "expanding" universe, which provided foundation for big-bang ory. He also played a crucial role in establishing fields of extragalactic astromy and observational cosmology, Born in 1889, Hubble proved that many objects previously thought to be clouds of dust and gas and classified as "nebulae" were actually galaxies beyond Milky Way.
