On August 7, NASA's vanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) team, in collaboration with Earth Observatory, Singapore in NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Caltech released satellite imry of scale of destruction caused by massive explosion in Beirut on August 4. In a press release, NASA said that it used satellite-derived syntic aperture rar data from to capture before and after ground surface change. In ims released, NASA said what looked like an earthquake, one can see infrastructure in ruins around port of Beirut.
Marking areas destroyed on map with red pixels, NASA signified more extensive dam, whereas, yellow and red pixels represented moderate and slight dam. Each pixel approximately covered an area of 33 yards. “Maps like this one can help identify bly damd areas where people may need assistance. explosion occurred near city's port. It claimed more than 150 lives and is estimated to have caused billions of dollars' worth of dam,” NASA said in release. According to ncy, map was created with modified data supplied by Copernicus Sentinel data processed by ESA (European ncy) and analyzed by ARIA team scientists at NASA JPL.

South of port sustained most severe dam
More than 100 lives were claimed, and over 4,000 wounded and up to 300,000 people were rendered homeless after gigantic explosions rocked through port area in Beirut. destruction occurred while country was struggling financially amid ongoing coronavirus crisis and its ecomy was in shackles, as per reports. NASA’s imry depicts nearly every building collapsed and re was widescale dam caused in unforeseen trdy. A large, water-filled crater was seen in place of ground where two port buildings stood, while south of port sustained most severe dam.
