SpaceX return: NASA astronauts make first splashdown in 45 years; watch

X Crew Dragon Capsule carrying two NASA travellers returned to earth in a dramatic return over weekend. Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken were astronauts who were involved with this ambitious journey, completed final phase of Demo-2 mission.

Where did X land?
X Dragon craft carrying two veteran travellers splashed down at sea in Gulf of Mexico, south of Pensacola on Atlantic Florida coast. Crew Dragon travelled down at 15 miles per hour at 2:48 PM ET and landing was a pretty smooth one. Soon after touchdown, a recovery team arrived at location to prepare capsule to be pulled out by main recovery ship.

How long was X flight?
X Crew Dragon Capsule departed from ISS (International Station) on Saturday, making its way back to Earth regardless of a storm along Florida coast. touchdown marks first time in history that two US travellers ended a mission with splashdown at sea since Apollo command module over 45 years ago.
launch of Crew Dragon craft was operated by private company X and this was its very first crewed mission. aero company owned by Elon Musk aims to provide transportation of travellers to and from ISS.

Demo-2 mission began on May 30, launching Crew Dragon craft from NASA’s Kennedy Center in Florida to ISS. mission h been considered a historic one as this was first US-based rocket dispatch since NASA h finished its Shuttle program almost a dece ago in 2011. This was also first time in history that a private aero company carried humans into ISS. Apart from X, NASA has hired also recruited Boeing to offer transportation services to and from International Station. However, X was first private company to do it.
