European Sourn Observatory (ESO) has discovered a planet orbiting most massive two-star system kwn. Discovered using Very Large Telescope (VLT), star system named 'b Centauri' has at least six times mass of Sun and has been identified as most massive system around which a planet revolves.

Until w, planets have been found to orbit star systems having a mass just three times that of sun, astromers reported in ir study published in journal, Nature.

Discovery of new planet can change beliefs about planet formation

discovery of new planet has me scientists reconsider ories about  conditions required for  presence of planets around ir stars. Talking about new planet, astromer Markus Janson from Stockholm University who is also le author of study said:

"Finding a planet around b Centauri was very exciting since it completely changes picture about massive stars as planet hosts."

Named 'b Centauri (AB)b' or 'b Centauri b', planet is ten times mass of Jupiter and has some extreme features. astromers reported in ir study that planet is among  most massive planets ever found and revolves around star-duo in one of widest orbits yet discovered. As per findings, planet orbits stars at a distance that is 100 times greater than distance of Jupiter from Sun which, according to scientists, is reason for its survival.

study found that main star in system is a B- star, that is over three times as hot as Sun and emits intense ultraviolet and X-ray riation owing to its extreme temperature. discovery of planet is even more surprising as conditions around 'b Centauri' are against planet formation as  huge mass and emerging heat from star has a strong impact on surrounding gas.

Gayathri Viswanath, co-author and a Ph.D. student at Stockholm University said, as per ESO's report, " planet in b Centauri is an alien world in an environment that is completely different from what we experience here on Earth and in our Solar System. It's a harsh environment, dominated by extreme riation, where everything is on a gigantic scale: stars are bigger, planet is bigger, distances are bigger". Meanwhile, scientists are w preparing to explore more about  planet's features and story behind its formation.
