Scientists discover traces of nitrogen compounds in 4 billion-year-old Martian Meteorite

A recent research was conducted by a team of scientists who has discovered a 4 billion-year-old Martian meteorite which once hit Antarctica, as per reports.

A recent research was conducted by a team of scientists who has discovered a 4 billion-year-old Martian meteorite which once hit Antarctica. According to reports, Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) issued a press release in which team has revealed to have found traces of organic compounds in meteorite. scientists reportedly ded that meteorite contains nitrogen-bearing organic material in carbonate minerals. It is first-ever evidence of presence of organic compounds on red planet.

Martian Meteorite

According to reports, team included Atsuko Kobayashi from ELSI at Tokyo Institute of Techlogy, Japan and research scientist Mizuho Koike from Institute of and Astronautical Science at Japan Aero Exploration ncy. Kobayashi reportedly stated that Martian meteorite, ALH84001 is famous and has hundreds of research papers published on it. He purportedly ded that he h been studying it occasionally for about 20 years. He claimed that particular meteorite is at “ centre of 'life on Mars' debate”.

scientists reportedly stated that meteorite belongs to Mars’ achian and has been present for over 4 billion years. detailed study has been published in journal Nature Communications. study reveals existence of wet and organic-rich early Mars, which makes it favourable for existence of life forms.

On or hand, a team behind HiRise camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shared a unique im of Mars in which y discovered a spectacular dragon aurora on planet’s canyon. Taking to its official handle on Twitter, team wrote that im of light-toned blocky material in southwestern Melas Chasma resembled a fabled Chinese dragon when seen from a different perspective. According to NASA, natural phemen of creation auroras is caused by particles emanating from Sun that collide with Earth's atmosphere that results in a unique light formation, ncy wrote on its website.
