Elon Musk lauds 'incredible work' by NASA & SpaceX for Demo-2 mission
NASA on Friday has given SpaceX the go-ahead for it historic astronaut launch mission from United States' Kennedy Space Center next week, a first since 2011.

As NASA gave go-ahe for X's historic liftoff of two astronauts on Crew Dragon capsule from Florida to International Station next week following a Flight Reiness Review, CEO of X Elon Musk credited success to “incredible” amount of work that teams from both organisations put into Demo-2 mission along with “support” of all countries of International Station (ISS). What NASA is calling a “new era of human flight” under its program ‘#LaunchAmerica’ involves astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to fly on X-manufactured Crew Dragon craft on May 27 from Launch Complex 39A in Florida to ISS.
This is first time that a private company has been allowed to ‘run show’. However, duration of Demo-2 mission is yet to be determined. NASA ministrator Jim Bridenstine has anunced that review of flight reiness has been completed and y got green signal after each system, as well as subsystem, was considered.

First astronauts to begin working with X
Both Behnken and Hurley were apparently one of first astronauts who h begun working and training with X on its next-generation human race vehicle. refore, y were selected for DEmo-2 mission for ir “extensive test pilot and flight experience” along with several missions on shuttle. According to NASA’s elaboration on ‘Launch America’, joint operations commander for momentous mission will be Behnken and will monitor activities including “rendezvous, docking and undocking” and Demo-2 activities. Hurley, on or hand, would be craft commander for same and will be responsible for activities such as “launch, landing and recovery”.
Both astronauts will be incorporated among members of Expedition 63 crew. y will n start operations on X’s Crew Dragon along with or researches with station crew. NASA also said that “although Crew Dragon being used for this flight test can stay in orbit about 110 days, specific mission duration will be determined once on a station based on reiness of next commercial crew launch. operational Crew Dragon craft will be capable of staying in orbit for at least 210 days as a NASA requirement.”
