X's Starship SN8 proto was scheduled to have its ambitious test flight from X's Boca Chica launch site in Texas. However, it w appears that people will have to wait a bit longer to catch a glimpse of high-altitude lift off. SN8 was rey to take off at originally scheduled time, but it h to be scrubbed due to an engine malfunction.

SN8 X launch was set for 5:30 PM EST; however, it was aborted by mission control as something unusual was detected with Raptor engine just 1.3 seconds before liftoff.

X Starship launch: New SN8 proto launch schedule
With X Starship SN8 test flight scrubbed for December 9, next flight could be scheduled for Wednesday, December 10 if issues with engines are dressed on time. launch window is set to run from 9 AM EST and 6 PM EST. launch could also take place on Thursday, December 11 in case it doesn't happen tomorrow.

X SN8 proto h recently undergone a successful static fire from company's Boca Chica launch site leing up to high-altitude test flight from company.

X is building Starship protos to carry cargo and people to distant planets such as moon, Mars and or destinations. SN8 test flight is set to be one of landmark flights for X. SN5 and SN6 are two of company's full-size Starship protos which also h test flights recently.
Both protos flew short-hops and attained an altitude of under 500 feet when y were launched from X’s Boca Chica test site in Texas. Starship SN6 proto performed a 150-meter test in September 2020, while SN5 proto h a 150-meter hop test in August same year. It is also worth mentioning that a number of earlier Starship proto crafts from company h encountered some kind of complications or issues which is one of reasons y weren't able to have a lot of success.
