11-year-old Brazilian skateboarder Gui Khury sets record with 1080

11-year-old Brazilian Gui Khury made extreme sport history on Saturday when he became the first skateboarder to land a 1080 on a vert ramp, breaking the previous record of 900 set by the legenday Tony Hawk in 1999.

11-year-old Brazilian Gui Khury made extreme sport history on Saturday when he became the first skateboarder to land a 1080 on a vert ramp, breaking the previous record of 900 set by the legenday Tony Hawk in 1999.

Khury completed three full revolutions during an aerial spin to set the 1080 record.

He posted the video to his Instagram account saying, "I have no words to explain what just happened".

Skateboarding was to make its Summer Olympic debut this year before the Tokyo games were postponed until 2021, although vert will not be included in the competition.
