Apart from Neeraj Chopra's historic gold medal, Pakistan's Nadeem achieved a distance of 87.82m and won the silver medal. Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch won the bronze medal with a throw of 86.67m. India's DP Manu and Kishore Jena also finished in the top eight and gained the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
After the success in the World Athletics Championships 2023, Neeraj Chopra will now head to Hangzhou, China, where he will compete in the 2023 Asian Games. Chopra is the current Asian champion and will have to defend his title. Looking at his progress of Chopra after the Tokyo Olympics 2020, he is once again the preferred choice to win gold at the Asian Games.
