Asia's biggest natural ice rink in Shimla hosts 'Gymkhana', 'Carnival' after 6-year hiatus

Sports enthusiasts and skaters participated in various races for tiny tots, Under-10, Under-14, Under-16, and open category besides Figure skating competition in Gymkhana, said Organising secretary of club Rajat Malhotra.

Curricular events including fancy dress competitions, chain tag, giant wheel, jumps over baskets were organized during carnival held in evening and skaters holding burning torches (mashals) in ir hands was highlight.

"re is a proposal to build an artificial all-wear skating rink here and I would take up matter with Himachal Presh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for allocating budget for skating rink," said Sports minister Yvinder Goma who was chief guest on occasion.
