Asian Games 2018: Hima Das, Muhamamed Anas win silver medals in 400m

India's track and field athletes Hima Das and Muhammed Anas have etched ir names into history books after y clinched silver in 400m event at 2018 Asian Games. 

18-year-old Hima Das finished behind Bahrain's Salwa Naser, with a timing of 50.79s in finals. In process, she also set a new national record and bettered her timing of 51.00s, which she set in qualification round.

Hima Das has been red-hot form coming into 2018 Asian Games. Earlier this year she became first Indian to win a track and field gold at  Under-20 World Athletics Championships. And later, went on to finish sixth at Commonwealth Games where she was pitted against some seasoned athletes.

Hima Das was one of India's hottest medal prospects at qurennial event and she certainly lived up to her billing with a stunning performance. Ar medal in same event was ded by Muhammed Anas who claimed silver after clocking 45.69 secs.

Having alrey impressed in qualifications rounds with a timing of 45.63, Muhammed Anas was embarking on a historic run as he became  first Indian since Milkha Singh to compete in final since 1958. l from Kerala showed immense character to ensure India its third medal at track and field events.

re was furrmore success for Indian athletics with Dutee Chand claiming silver in Women's 100m event clocking a time of 11.32s athletes looked to have picked up from Tejinder Pal's record-breaking feat, where he set Games Record score. He clinched men's shot put gold with a record-shattering throw of 20.75m.

2018 Asian Games have proved to be quite a fruitful one for India, with current medal tally standing at staggering 36 medals - consisting of 7 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals. highlight at qurennial event so far has been Vinesh Phoghat, who became first Indian female wrestler to claim gold in this history of Asian Games.
