China Open: Ace badminton player Carolina Marin trumps Tai Ying

Carolina Marin wins the coveted China Open Super 1000 badminton tournament title by beating Tai Tzu Ying in only her second appearance since her knee injury

Carolina Marin won  precious China Open Super 1000 bminton tournament title by beating Tai Tzu Ying in only her second appearance since her knee injury. Carolina Marin, hailing from Spain beat Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying 14-21, 21-17, 21-18 in a 1 hour and 5-minute encounter. Marin h earlier suffered a career-threatening injury in a match against Saina Nehwal in January. Marine was overpowered with emotions as she retained her crown defeating Ying.

China Open Super 1000 bminton tournament

Carolina Marin h earlier pulled out from World Championship last month stating that she wasn't completely fit. Last week, Marin h participated in Vietnam Open where she lost in straight games to Supanida Katethong of Thailand in first round. Marine having suffered a grave injury earlier this year h damd her ACL. However, after entering China Open she mand to ward off world championship finalist zomi Okuhara in straight games and twice fought back from a game down against local favourite He Bingjiao and Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi reaching finals. Marin took a 19-13 le before Ying mand to give out a few high strokes. However, Marin engd her opponent in long rallies before ending match on a high. Marin is w slated to play next week in  Korea Open where she will face Chen Yufei in opening round.

Three-time world champion 

Carolina Marin is a three-time World Champion. She is also a four-time European Champion furr holding  former World's number one ranking for women's singles. On August 5, 2018, she h won Bminton World Championships defeating PV Sindhu in two sets with 21–19, 21–10. This makes her first woman in history to win three Championship titles.
