China Open: Satwiksairaj-Chirag Shetty continue giant-killing spree

China Open: Satwiksairaj and Chirag entered semi-finals of ongoing China Open after upsetting World No. 3 pair of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen 21-19, 21-15.

After ir recent exploits at French Open, Indian men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued ir tremendous form at ongoing China Open.  Indian pair entered semi-finals of ongoing tournament after upsetting World  3 pair of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen 21-19, 21-15 in quarter-final clash which lasted for 43 minutes at Haixia Olympics Sports Center.

China Open: Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty performance 

Indian duo was quick of blocks taking a 3-0 le in thHow match unfolded first game. Indian pair stayed ahe, but Chinese pair clawed back to close gap to 17-16 before Chirag and Satwik snatched first game 21-19.

second game was different as Indians continued to pile on pressure with a great combination. Chinese pair did fight back and tried to take match into decider, but Satwik and Chirag closed game 21-15 to enter next round.

World  9 Indian pair will w face top-ranked Indonesian pair of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who defeated German double of Marks Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel 21-14, 21-19 to make it to last four.

French Open final

Earlier, Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty finished runners-up at French Open after losing final to World  1 pairing of Marcus Fernaldi and Kevin Sukamuljo. Indonesian duo won match 21-18, 21-16. H pair won title in France, y would have become only second Indian doubles pair after Partho Ganguli and Vikram Singh in 1983 to win French Open.
