China Open: Satwiksairaj-Chirag Shetty continue giant-killing spree
China Open: Satwiksairaj and Chirag entered semi-finals of ongoing China Open after upsetting World No. 3 pair of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen 21-19, 21-15.

After their recent exploits at French Open, Indian men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued their tremendous form at the ongoing China Open. The Indian pair entered the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament after upsetting World No 3 pair of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen 21-19, 21-15 in the quarter-final clash which lasted for 43 minutes at the Haixia Olympics Sports Center.

China Open: Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty performance
The Indian duo was quick of the blocks taking a 3-0 lead in thHow the match unfolded first game. The Indian pair stayed ahead, but the Chinese pair clawed back to close the gap to 17-16 before Chirag and Satwik snatched the first game 21-19.

The second game was no different as the Indians continued to pile on the pressure with a great combination. The Chinese pair did fight back and tried to take the match into the decider, but Satwik and Chirag closed the game 21-15 to enter the next round.

The World No 9 Indian pair will now face top-ranked Indonesian pair of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who defeated German double of Marks Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel 21-14, 21-19 to make it to the last four.

French Open final
Earlier, Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty finished runners-up at French Open after losing the final to World No 1 pairing of Marcus Fernaldi and Kevin Sukamuljo. The Indonesian duo won the match 21-18, 21-16. Had the pair won the title in France, they would have become only the second Indian doubles pair after Partho Ganguli and Vikram Singh in 1983 to win the French Open.
