Saina Nehwal is one of most celebrated bminton players in India. former World 1 has won over 24 international titles, including 11 Superseries. Nehwal clinched World 2 spot in 2009 and in 2015 she reached milestone after becoming first Indian women to bag 1 title in bminton and only second Indian after Prakash Pukone. Nehwal has represented India thrice at Olympic Games. She has a bronze medal to her name in London Olympics.

Nehwal bagged silver at Commonwealth Youth Games which was held in 2004. Nehwal won silver medal in girls' singles of World Junior Championships in 2006.
