‘I Knew I Could Not Control the Shuttle’: Lakshya Sen REVEALS Reason for Loss to Axelsen in Paris

Lakshya Sen, 23-year-old, emerged as India's big hope at Paris Olympics 2024. He h his chances against former Olympic champion Victor Axelsen, but squandered it. Sern, who is still trying to cope with heartbreaking fourth-place finish, has recently revealed reason that led to his loss in semi-final. In an interaction in a promotional event in Mumbai on Tuesday, Sen claimed that loss will hurt him personally for a long time. He also promised he is going to change a lot in near future to get results on his side.

Lakshya on Paris, Future Plans

“Overall, in how I played, re were some things I was happy and proud about at Paris. But this is going to hurt for some time. I am looking to d and change a lot of things moving forward,” Lakshya said.

Claiming that he was fighting for every point, Lakshya revealed that court h some drift in second game against Axelsen and he mitted that he could t control his shots.

“In second game, that side of court h some drift. Even after le, I knew I could t control shuttle. And n, momentum suddenly changed, and he started playing better. Even when he drew level, I was fighting for every point,” Lakshya ded.

“I am happy that my starting strategy was working well. But in crucial situations, I could have played differently. I did t play well at all in end, and re were a lot of unforced errors. I needed to be a little more patient,” he concluded. 

Meanwhile, Lakshya has pulled out of Japan Open.
