First Indian Singles Player to win BWF World Championship Gold

PV Sindhu became first Indian singles player to win a gold at BWF World Championship by beating Japan's zomi Okuhara. win was even more special to her as it was also her mor's birthday, It was indeed most special gift she could give to her mor. champion threw in some strong smashes and defeated Okuhara in just 38 minutes. Interestingly, two years ago, Okuhara h defeated PV Sindhu in a match lasting 118 minutes at same BWF World championship.

PV Sindhu Is First Indian To Win Five World Championship Medals

PV Sindhu holds a unique record at World Championships. She has won five medals in a total of six appearances only at championship. Sindhu has following medals: Gold (2019), Silver (2012 and 2018) and Bronze (2013 and 2014) respectively. To date, she is fastest player to achieve five medals at World Championship..

First Indian Singles Player To Win Olympic Silver

Sindhu achieved prestigious feat of winning an Olympic silver at Rio Olympics in 2016. only or singles player to hold win an Olympic medal is Sania Nehwal who won bronze medal back in 2012.
