PV Sindhu Dominates Li Xue Rui; Advances to Round 2 of China Open 2019

The China Open began on 17th September 2019 and is currently underway at Changzhou. The first round of the Women's Singles was played on the 18th of September, where Saina Nehwal of India faced Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand. World Champion, PV Sindhu, also had a match where she faced China's Li Xue Rui. In the Men's Singles, India's Sai Praneeth faced Thailand's Suppanyu Avihingsanon.
PV Sindhu and Praneeth Progress To Round 2
PV Sindhu dominated Xue Rui and claimed the match in just two games. The scoreline for Sindhu read 21-18 in the first game and 21-12 in the second game. Xue Rui seemed desperate for a revival but Sindhu did not let her get an edge over her in the match which lasted just 35 minutes.
On the men's side, Sai Praneeth played excellently against Thailand's Avihingsanon. He won the first game and came very close to winning the second one as well. Avihingsanon ended up edging him out in the second game, ending it at 21-23. However, Sai Praneeth returned to dominance in the third game, winning the game with 21 points to his credit while Avihingsanon stayed stuck at 14.
Nehwal Tries, But To No Avail
In the Women's Singles, Saina Nehwal of India played Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand. The first game was dominated by Busanan as she ended up winning it with a scoreline of 21-10. Nehwal fought well in the second game and the scorecard depicted the same as both players were tied at 12-12, at one stage of the game. Busanan then picked up pace and went on to defeat Nehwal, 21-17. The match ended in just two games and Saina was out of the China Open.
PV Sindhu will now play Pornpawee Chochuwong in the Round of 16 and Sai Praneeth will play Lu Guangzu of China for the Men's Round of 16.
