PV Sindhu is the world's 13th highest-paid woman athlete: Forbes

reputed global magazine Forbes recently released ir 'Highest-Paid Female Athletes 2019' list recently and Indian bminton superstar and world champion, PV Sindhu is only athlete from country in list. list is topped by American tennis superstar, Serena Williams as expected yet again. Sindhu is also only bminton player in list that is majorly dominated by tennis superstars. Interestingly, Sindhu's earnings are same as American tennis player, Mison Keys.

Sindhu, 13th highest-paid female athlete in world

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu me a total of 5.5 million dollars in earnings, prompting Forbes to call her 'India's most marketable female athlete.' Sindhu has become a sports icon in India after her appearances in Rio Olympics 2016 final against Carolina Marin and BWF World Championships this year, winning latter. American women's soccer star Alex Morgan is ranked one place ahe in list as she has earned only $300,000 more than Indian. Remarkably, Sindhu has earned $5 million in endorsements solely and just $500,000 in prize money.

Forbes also ded that tennis continues to be highest paying sport for women globally despite parity issues in pay being raised often. Earlier this year, WTA anunced that WTA Finals at end of this year will result in winner taking home a whopping 4.7 million dollars. This is largest payout in history of men's or women's tennis.

After making her debut in 2009, PV Sindhu has climbed up ranks of world bminton and ranked .2 in world in April 2017. Sindhu will be looking to regain her lost form after getting kcked out of Denmark Open in its second round after losing to 17-year-old An Se Young on Friday.
