PV Sindhu has beaten Japan's zomi Okuhara by 21-7 21-7 in summit clash that lasted just 38 minutes. Retired Indian track and field athlete PT Usha recently congratulated PV Sindhu with a heartwarming social media post. She shared a throwback picture of her with shuttler where a very young PV Sindhu can be seen sitting on her lap. Sharing picture on Twitter PT Usha wrote, " passion and dedication for sport will always be rewarded when hard work comes into play." Furr extending congratulatory greetings, PT Usha said that PV Sindhu's success will inspire generations to come.

Two years after being robbed of gold by Okuhara in an epic 110-minute final at Glasgow that went down as one of greatest battles in bminton history, PV Sindhu finally exorcised ghost of that heart-wrenching loss with a completely dominating win over same opponent.

It was PV Sindhu's fifth World Championship medal -- joint-most for a woman singles player with former Olympics and world champion Zhang Ning of China -- to go with two successive silvers and a couple of bronze medals. PV Sindhu has also won Olympic silver in 2016 Rio Games, silver at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, an Asian Games silver at Jakarta and BWF World Tour Finals last year.
