Targeting Chris Paul could be a good option for the New York Knicks. If Paul joins the roster, another veteran will be added to the team. If we look at the Knicks current roster, only seven players have played in the NBA for more than three seasons. Currently, Chris Paul is averaging 16.3 points, 4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field and 44.4% from the three-point line. According to NBA reports, Paul joining the roster would impact young players like R.J. Barrett, Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson, and Frank Ntilikina. He would also improve the team's defence.

NBA trade rumours: Chris Paul will be the best match for New York Knicks

For Oklahoma City Thunder, Paul has been contributing to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while also helping him improve his game. If Paul was playing for the Knicks, he could help Cole Anthony and LaMelo Ball transition into the NBA. However, the Knicks will face a problem in 2021, where Paul will have a $44 million deal which he will be likely to accept. According to NBA reports, no one was looking to sign with the Knicks and will have to build a strong young core which might be an incentive for other players to sign with them. If Paul does not decline his player option, the Knicks might have to part ways with multiple first-round picks to trade Paul. According to some NBA reports, the Knicks will have to take this risk. They could also sign a marquee free agent if they are confident about trading Paul.
