Due to back spasms, starting small forward Rodney Hood had left the game in the first quarter and did not return. As a result, first-round pick Nassir Little got the opportunity to make his NBA debut. Little got a block and a basket during his first NBA outing which helped Portland to cut what had been a 10-point lead down to five. He ended the game with eight points and three rebounds.
