Donovan Mitchell, Jamal Murray embrace after Nuggets' hard-fought 4-3 first-round victory

Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray shared a moment on the court after the Denver Nuggets' 4-3 playoffs first-round comeback victory against the Utah Jazz.

Denver Nuggets advanced to second round of playoffs at NBA bubble after a hard-fought seven-game series again Utah Jazz. Dovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray duelled on court, becoming first duo since LeBron James and Kevin Durant in 2017 to aver 30-plus points in a playoff series while shooting over 50% from field. After 80-78 Game 7 showdown, both Mitchell and Murray shared a moment on court before returning to ir locker room.

Jazz vs Nuggets highlights: Dovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray embrace on court after Nuggets Game 7 victory 

After clock ran out, Dovan Mitchell laid on court with his head buried in arms, after which Jamal Murray ran to Mitchell on or side of court to console him. Mitchell and Murray hugged after former stood up and exchanged a few words before moving away. Nuggets came back from a 1-3 deficit in series, forcing a Game 7 after ir 109-107 victory. 

Following game, Dovan Mitchell spoke to reporters about ir loss, though he was visibly upset and shocked at  Nuggets' victory. "People lost ir family members to police brutality and racism and sh*t. way that I’m feeling right w is thing compared to that," Mitchell said. Players from both teams have publically supported Black Lives Matter movement, constantly trying to make a stand against police brutality and systemic racism at NBA bubble. Last game, Jamal Murray delivered an emotional speech about his 50-point performance, which he said was fuelled by custom George Floyd-Breonna Taylor shoes he was wearing.

Jazz vs Nuggets highlights: Dovan Mitchell creates history in Game 7 loss against Nuggets

Despite Jazz's loss, Mitchell created history with most three-pointers (33) in a playoffs series. Mitchell is followed by Murray at 32 three-pointers. Jazz star surpassed Steph Curry's record of 32 three-pointers during 2016 NBA and Western Conference Finals. Klay Thompson ranks third with 30 three-pointers.

Both Mitchell and Murray played explosively, scoring a combined 475 points in series – which is most combined points by opposing players in a playoff series in league, surpassing Jerry West and John Havlicek's 1969 record of 463 points. Mitchell scored 36.2 points per game while shooting 53% from field, 51.5% from three-point range and 95% from free-throw line. On or hand, Murray scored 31.5 points per game, while shooting 55% from field, 55% from three-point range and 92% from free-throw line. This includes his two 50-point games.
