Dream Team or Redeem Team? LeBron James Has A New Name For USA Basketball's Class Of 2024

LeBron James led the star studded USA Men's Basketball team to their fifth consecutive Olympic Gold medal as they beat the host nation of France 98-87 in the finals of Paris Games. LeBron James certainly had a Summer Games to remember as he won his third Olympic medal and was also named the MVP of the tournament. 

As Team USA were felicitated with their Gold medals, LeBron James was asked by an interviewer that just like the dream team of 92 and redeem team of 08, what label should be given to the 2024 team, to which LeBron James had an amazing reply.

The Dream Team of 1992 Olympics consisted of stars like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson and heading into the Paris Olympics, the current USA Basketball team was claimed to even better than that iconic team.

As it turned out, USA did live up to their billing as three superstars of the past decade in LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant combined to bring Gold for USA. 

Once USA beat France in the finals of Paris Olympics and were celebrating their Gold medal triumph LeBron James was asked by the interviewer, “There's the Dream Team, Redeem Team. What's this team?”. 

To which LeBron James gave a quick and telling response saying, “The Avengers”.

LeBron James was part of the 2008 Redeem team which brought back the Gold medal in men's basketball for USA and now nearly 16 years later he has led a star studded lineup with the likes of Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Davis among other stars to yet another Gold.

With their Gold medal triumph in 2024, USA men's basketball has won 17 Gold medals in a total of 21 Olympics since basketball was inducted into the Summer Games.
