Gregg Popovich calls receiving COVID-19 vaccine 'no-brainer', urges people to follow him
To help promote the COVID-19 vaccine for the NBA, 72-year-old San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich received the vaccine on his birthday.

Gregg Popovich – who turned 72 this week – celebrated his birthday by promoting COVID-19 vaccine. "Sciencewise, it's a -brainer," Popovich says in video. "It's right thing to do so we can all get on track again". Since vaccination has been available, NBA has been campaigning for it, trying to raise awareness. Popovich, over 65 years of , falls under guidelines set by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for vaccine's eligibility.
Later, Popovich also told health care worker that he did t feel ill after taking vaccine.

Is COVID-19 vaccine effective?
As per CDC's guidelines, health care personnel, people living in long-term care facilities, front-like workers and those above of 65 are to be prioritized. People who have "underlying medical conditions" which increase chance of contracting COVID-19 are also included.

Earlier this month, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also received COVID-19 vaccine. “We have to find new ways to keep each or safe,” he said, also featuring in a video where he received vaccine. He even spoke about vaccine eligibility provided by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
