Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon set to be sidelined for 6 weeks, claim NBA sources

According to Houston Rockets' head coach Mike D'Antoni, Eric Gordon will not play for at least six weeks. The guard will be undergoing arthroscopic surgery.

Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon will be sidelined for at least six weeks. According to NBA sources, the player will be undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery and will take at least 6 weeks to return to the game. As Gordon is one of Houston's best player, his absence will definitely be a setback for the team. Gorden last played against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, where the Rockets won 122-166.

Houston Rockets' guard Eric Gordon out for at least six weeks

The team's head coach Mike D'Antoni also commented on Gordon's injury and stated that the player will now return only after recuperating for at least 4 to 6 weeks. He also stated that a piece of debris was found after the MRI was done. Gordon finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Gordon has had a slow start in NBA 2019-20 season, averaging at 10.9 points per game, which includes 30.9 % shooting from the field and 28.4% from beyond the arc.

Chris Clemons to fill in for Gordon

In his statement, D'Antoni also said that Chris Clemons will play in place of the injured Gordon. Ben McLemore and Austin Rivers will help Clemons during the games. Clemons is averaging at 4.8 points per game, with 42.9 % shooting from the field.
