James Harden’s ‘Party Habits’ ruled out Nets star's trade to Miami, says Udonis Haslem
The Heat veteran Udonis Haslem revealed that James Harden's 'partying' was the reason why the veteran guard would not have been a good fit at Miami.

James Harden was tred to Brooklyn Nets last week but several contenders around NBA considered making a move for eight-time NBA All-Star. Miami Heat were among one of many franchises that were keen on signing Harden, who was unhappy at Houston. While speaking on Complex Sports Podcast, three-time NBA champion Udonis Haslem explained that Heat simply couldn't bring James Harden to Miami due to his party habits. "Man, when I woke up and seen that damn James Harden tre, I was half-asleep. I woke up and dropped my damn phone. I couldn’t believe it. I knew we weren’t gonna get him. You can’t bring James Harden to a place like Miami and expect him t to party," he said.
Haslem, who largely doesn't play but has retained a roster spot as a veteran mentor and pseudo-assistant coach, n joked that he would've d 15 years trying to be Harden's mentor. 40-year-old also stated that Harden’s off--court behaviour would t have been a fit with Heat. "I would’ve d 15 years trying to be his O.G. He would’ve h to move me into guesthouse to keep a close eye on him,” Heat star ded.

Harden has gained a reputation for his partying habits even in an NBA that is filled with players who like to have a good time. He missed early portion of training camp with Rockets because he was partying across country. According to reports from ESPN, when Rockets h several days off between games during regular season, Harden would often charter a private jet to Las Vegas to party.
