Not many players can boast of writing their name in the record books alongside LA Lakers star LeBron James. Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic, however, had the pleasure of doing so during the Mavericks' 117-110 win over San Antonio Spurs. Luka Doncic registered a game-high 42 points against the Spurs. In doing so, the Mavs' star became only the second under-21 player to record a 40-point triple-double. The only other player to register such a feat in the NBA was Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James.

The Dallas Mavericks now have an 8-5 record in the NBA this season. Luka Doncic and LeBron James faced off against each other earlier this month. LeBron James ended up on the winning side as the Lakers triumphed over the Mavs. James racked up a game-high 39 points during the Lakers' overtime win. However, Luka Doncic was not far behind, as he ended up with 31 points on the night. Interestingly, both Luka Doncic and LeBron James posted triple-doubles during their last encounter. Luka Doncic will have the opportunity to reverse the result from their last game against the Lakers next week when the Dallas Mavericks travel to the Staples Center on Monday.
