Lakers looking forward to celebrate NBA title win at the White House ahead of Trump exit
After their 2020 Championship win at the NBA bubble, the Los Angeles Lakers are eager to commemorate their victory at the White House with Joe Biden.

In 1980s, President Ronald Reagan had taken to inviting championship teams to DC after season was over. tradition continued, with players looking forward to celebrating ir victory with President of United States. However, when Trump was sworn in on January 20, 2017, tradition was halted.
After Steph Curry's 'hesitation' to visit after Golden State Warriors 2017 victory, Trump tweeted about withdrawing invitation. Players, including LeBron James, had a strong reaction to event, calling him out on ir social media platforms. "U bum," James wrote in 2017, "@StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So refore ain't invite. Going to White House was a great hor until you showed up!".

Lakers White House visit to be done after Joe Biden is sworn in?
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Lakers are looking forward to resuming NBA's tradition to go to White House. However, a date is yet to be set. Reports add that COVID-19 protocols will be taken seriously, where y will look at a time where Lakers will play Washington Wizards at home – along with when Biden is free. As of w, NBA has only released a schedule for first half of 2020-21 season.

Coincidentally, last time NBA champions visited White House was in 2016 – when Cleveland Cavaliers won ir first title. However, as Trump becoming president clashed with league's values, visits have been halted for four years w. James – who won his fourth title – will be able to rekindle tradition with Biden.
