Michael Jordan reveals he missed games due to severing finger tendon while cutting cigar

According to ESPN, Michael Jordan hurt his finger while he was trying to cut a cigar at a casino while in the Bahamas and was unable to even palm a basketball.

Michael Jordan retired from NBA for second time in January 1999 while he was with Washington Wizards. Several fans blamed n-Chicago Bulls general manr Jerry Krause for Michael Jordan's retirement, wondering if NBA legend would have played ar season h Krause played ball with six-time NBA champion. According to ESPN, Michael Jordan hurt his finger while he was trying to cut a cigar at a casi while in Bahamas. Though re is t much information available, a 2000 report stated that it happened while six-time NBA champion was 'fooling around' with a cigar cutter. Jordan later blamed cigar cutter for being cheaply me and breaking when he pressed it during a Chicago-Sun Times interview.

Michael Jordan cigar injury damd a nerve

While injury was to take six weeks to heal, Jordan also suffered from nerve dam from incident. Bulls legend's hand was severely damd as he revealed that he h been unable to palm a basketball. Jordan later underwent ar surgery to repair his first injury. He ded that during surgery, he was told that due to him distracting his finger so many times, only course of action was reattaching his tendon. Jordan could shoot but could t grip ball properly. He was unable to pick up ball and dribble like he used to. Jordan came back later, and played with Wizards till 2002-03 season before retiring,

However, Jordan's injury was apparently unrelated to his decision to leave NBA. Bulls legend h alrey decided to part, owing to turbulent relationship Krause h with players. team also did t have eugh salary cap for Jordan, whose salary was more than entire NBA's salary cap during his final two years in Chicago.
