NBA executives reportedly think that the Western Conference should use Andre Iguodala to stop LeBron James, and hence keep him away from the Lakers. Iguodala is the final few NBA veterans available for the trade. However, if the Memphis Grizzlies do not come to an agreement in the next three months, Iguodala will be available for grabs in the Western Conference.

Iggy to stop King James?

Iguodala will work as a playoff stopper against the Lakers forward due to his experience in guarding James. Golden State Warriors traded Iguodala with the Grizzlies in the offseason. He is yet to play for the Grizzlies. The team has decided to look for a trade for Iguodala or buy his contract before the deadline in February and are reportedly looking for a first-round draft pick.

While speaking to a sports website, the NBA executive stated that Iguodala is more valuable in the Western Conference even though a deal in the East might be easier. He added that it is important to keep him off the Lakers, as their bench needs to be their weak spot. As he has experience against James, the teams will definitely look to utilize it. The executive also thinks Iguodala does not have good matchups in the Eastern Conference. In the past five playoff series in the NBA, Iguodala has defended James the most. The former NBA finals MVP averaged at 5.7 points per game in NBA 2018-19 with the Warriors.
