NBA: Watch teary-eyed Kemba Walker receive emotional Charlotte welcome
NBA: As Boston prepared to play Charlotte a highlight video was displayed on video boar above the court as tribute to Kemba Walker who was given hero's welcome.

When Kemba Walker decided to leave Charlotte Hornets and move to Boston Celtics, it was one of the toughest decision that he had to take in his career after spending eight seasons with the side. The point guard is considered one of the greatest players in Charlotte Hornets history and has a number of franchise records to his name.

Kemba Walker record-breaking feat with Hornets
Walker was Charlotte’s all-time leading scorer, ranking first in franchise history in terms of field goals, minutes played, three-point field goals and free throws. He ranked second in assists and third in games played.
When the three-time NBA star decided to make a move it was an emotional moment not only for the team and franchisee but also for the entire Charlotte fans.

Kemba Walker gets a warm welcome at Hornets
As Celtics prepared to take on Charlotte, a highlight video was displayed on the video board above the court as a tribute to Kemba Walker who was given a hero's welcome. As the tribute ended, the crowd gave him standing ovation.

Speaking about the emotional moment Walker said, "It was special to be back in Charlotte and the amount of love he got today and leading up to this day." He also said that the video made him really emotional in spite of him trying to hold it in, but he couldn't.

On his return, the three-time All-Star scored just 14 points and scored his first field goal after three minutes into the third quarter.
Walked played eight seasons in Charlotte before signing with the Celtics after Hornets owner Michael Jordan elected not to give Walker a reported five-year, $221 million supermax contract.
