NBA: Data suggests LeBron James-led Lakers are most hated team

NBA: With LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the line-up, Lakers have the firepower at their disposal to become contenders for this year's NBA Championship.

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently on red hot form with Anthony Davis and LeBron James leading the charge for the Los Angeles side. Despite having the best record in the Western Conference, they are also NBA's one of the most-hated team.

According to recent data gathered by SportsInsider, except for California, Ohio and some parts of Oklahoma, the Lakers are the most hated team in the league. They are followed by the Golden State Warriors who are ranked second, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets.

The throne of most hated team belonged to the Warriors last season, while the Lakers were second in the 2018 NBA hated teams map. Warriors have had a dismal start to the season and are currently 2/6. The former five-time Western Conference champion and three-time NBA champion have struggled this season with Kevin Durant moving to Brooklyn Nets as a free agent, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry sidelined due to injuries.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are Lakers new firepower 

Lakers acquisition of All-Star forward Anthony Davis, the surprising resurgence of Dwight Howard and some explosive players in form of Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green have made this team the one to watch out for this season. Davis and Lebron have a combine of 15 All NBA first-team honours adds more depth to the side in terms of experience.  More than half of the United States - 34 in all - hate the team in purple and gold

The Lakers are currently on 7-1 win-loss record this season. The team looks strong out the gate and with some talented players in the squad. It is easy to see why haters are going to hate on them.
