Anthony Edwards has emerged as one of the faces of the NBA after a tremendous season with the Minnesota Timberwolves which saw them reach the Western Conference Finals. Edwards was also a part of the USA men's basketball team that won gold medal at the Paris Olympics

Anthony Edwards is certainly one of the more vocal players in the league but he has recently been ripped about and criticized heavily by Los Angeles Lakers and NBA legend Magic Johnson for making a disrespectful claim about NBA and Michael Jordan.

Anthony Edwards disrespects Michael Jordan's era

The Minnesota Timberwolves star man in his recent interview with the Wall Street Journal was pretty boastful about the quality of the NBA today compared to back in the 80s and 90s.

Anthony Edwards wasn't happy with how today's NBA is said to be soft compared to back in the day and made a disrespectful remark saying Michael Jordan was the only skilled player back in the day.

“They say it was harder back then than it is now, but I don't think anyone had the skill back then. Michael Jordan was the only one who really had ability,” claimed Anthony Edwards.

It certainly was a disrespectful remark from Edwards as he disregarded greats like Julius Erving, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Scottie Pipen, Magic Johnson among others.

Magic Johnson responds boldly to Anthony Edwards claim

Magic Johnson, the poster boy of ‘Showtime Lakers’ and a 5-time NBA Champion didn't take kindly to Edwards claim.

In a recent chat with Stephen A Smith, Magic Johnson completely ripped apart the 23-year old as he pointed out that Edwards has never won a ring in his career.

"I never respond to a guy who's never won a championship... He didn't win a college championship, I don't even know if he won a high school championship," said Magic Johnson.
