According to recent reports, the NBA is 'angling' to cancel the 2019-20 season after the recent shutdown of the Chinese Basketball Association was shut down.

On March 11, NBA 2019-20 season was suspended indefinitely due to coronavirus outbreak. While re have been reports about NBA aiming for a mid-June return, official statement has been me by organization. NBA will complete a month of suspension in upcoming week.

Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) was suspended in January, two months before NBA anunced ir suspension in March. While NBA officials, owners and players were reported to be determined to resume season and crown a champion, recent reports suggest that league might be cancelled. As per recent reports, league is longer optimistic about its return this year. reason seems to be linked to Chinese government shutting all group sporting events. CBA was hoping to resume by mid-April, but government has cancelled all sporting events until furr tice.

ESPN reported that NBA is clearly looking for a deal that will enable m to cancel season. While decision does t have to be me immediately, NBA is trying to keep all ir options open. However, ir talks have gone from resuming league to talk about how to handle financial losses if season needs to be cancelled. If season is cancelled, losses will also affect upcoming NBA season.
