Nikola Jokic superbly dominates Luka Doncic's Dallas Mavericks in Nuggets' nail-biting win
The Dallas Mavericks were caught out by a late surge from Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. Jokic dropped 33 points at the American Airlines Center.

Denver Nuggets vs Dallas Mavericks game was, by all means, very definition of a nail-biter. With Luka Doncic fit and firing, Dallas Mavericks were always going to be favourites to emerge victorious at American Airlines Center. However, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic turned tables on Dallas Mavericks with a 33-point display to propel Denver Nuggets to victory.

With 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Nikola Jokic was star of show. Dallas Mavericks raced to a 32-27 lead in Q1. While Luka Doncic may t have bulldozed through Denver Nuggets early on, MVP contender's prowess proved just eugh to keep Dallas Mavericks in lead. Luka Doncic's Mavericks took an 89-86 advant into Q4. When Nuggets bench came to fore, Mavericks switched to a zone defence which impeded Denver Nuggets' offence.

A late surge from Nikola Jokic, however, turned Nuggets' fortunes around to settle contest. Jerami Grant, Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley provided support for Nikola Jokic's heroics at American Airlines Center. re is a case to be made that Mavericks All-Star forward Kristaps Porzingis could have thwarted Nikola Jokic's late charge.
Porzingis has been out since end of December, courtesy of an issue with his knee. While loss, Dallas Mavericks currently sit sixth in NBA's Western Conference standings. Denver Nuggets, on or hand, climbed up to second, with Los Angeles Lakers leading Western Conference.
