Russell Westbrook trade: Even though Michael Jordan is pushing for a trade, the Charlotte Hornets are against giving away their No. 3 first-round pick.

Last week, reports spoke about Charlotte Hornets emerging as a new suitor for Russell Westbrook. Houston Rockets guard is apparently unhappy with team and ir future plans and wants out of team. While a trade to Hornets is possible, franchise might t be on board with trading ir . 3 pick for draft for Westbrook, who might or might t get m to playoffs.

Does Michael Jordan want a Russell Westbrook trade to Hornets?

As per Ringer's Kevin O'Conr, NBA legend and Hornets owner Michael Jordan might be pushing team to acquire Westbrook this off-season. However, like previous reports, Hornets are against Jordan's decision, t wanting to trade ir pick for an expensive multi-year contract. 2017 NBA MVP has also been linked to LA Clippers and New York Knicks in past.

news about Hornets' possibly looking to acquire Westbrook emerged after he and James Harden were reported to be concerned about team and ir future. Westbrook, as per Athletic, was "uneasy" about team's accountability and culture, which caused him to seek a trade. y added that 9-time NBA All-Star wants to go back to his previous "floor-general" role as he had while playing for  Oklahoma City Thunder.

Yahoo! Sports' and CelticsBlog's Keith Smith reported about Hornets' front office, who are apparently divided over Westbrook's trade. He added that y are looking for a better deal and  Rockets don't have eugh draft picks and young players to make Hornets consider absorbing his contract w. While some people of Hornets' front office think Westbrook could benefit team, some believe y should aim for ir clean cap sheet. 

However, if Hornets build a team around Westbrook, y could get back into playoffs. Westbrook signed his lucrative five-year $206 million deal with OKC Thunder in 2018. He was traded to Rockets later and has a three-year $132.6 million contract left.
