Two Lakers players test positive for COVID-19; team confirms both are asymptomatic

After Kevin Durant and three or Brooklyn Nets players tested positive for COVID-19, Lakers decided to test ir players as y were last team to play Nets. Fourteen players were tested first, whose results came on Thursday (Friday IST). remaining players may be tested by team in following days.

Lakers confirmed that two of ir players have tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday through a statement on ir official site. According to reports, Lakers have only tested 14 of ir current players. identity of players was t revealed by team.

Kevin Durant and three or Nets players tested positive earlier this week. Rudy Gobert was first NBA player to test positive for virus, which caused NBA to suspend ongoing season. Subsequent to that, teammate Dovan Mitchell and Detroit Pistons Christian Wood also tested positive. 

Nuggets and 76ers confirmed 1 and 3 cases respectively. However, y did t confirm if person is a player or a staff member. In ir statement, 76ers confirmed use of private means to get tested. Over past few days, NBA has been criticized for testing entire teams while re are critical patients waiting to get mselves tested.
