Batman's Bane Tom Hardy wins Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament, opponent says 'he’s a really strong guy'
Tom Hardy has played several iconic characters onscreen like being Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and Spiderman villain Venom in a recent film.

44-year-old actor Tom Hardy might be a tough guy on screen with several award-winning roles to his name but 'Batman's Bane' is also champion fighter off-screen too. Hardy recently emerged victorious in a 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship that took place in in Wolverhampton, UK. Hardy has played several iconic characters onscreen like Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and Spiderman villain Venom in a recent film. Hardy also played a MMA fighter in cult film 'Warrior' and now he has shown that serious fighting skills in real life too.

A video is going viral on social media which shows Hardy putting submission holds on his opponent with the crowd cheering him on. The 'Peaky Blinders' actor is a blue belt in BJJ and trying to rise up in the ranks in the brazilian fighting art. Tom Hardy's strength leaves opponent shocked
Even his opponents were surprised by him participating in a local BJJ tournament. One of his opponents said that he was shocked to find out that his adversary in the tournament would be Hardy himself. However, Hardy tried to calm his nerves by asking him to 'do what you would normally do' against him.
“I was waiting match-side for the semi-final when Tom showed up. I didn’t know he was going to be there – and they expected me to remain composed,” one of his defeated opponent said as per Yahoo Sports.

“I recognised him straight away. Everyone knows who Tom Hardy is, don’t they? I was shell-shocked. He said ‘just forget it’s me and do what you would normally do’. He’s a really strong guy, you wouldn’t think it with him being a celebrity.”
A spokesperson for the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship tournament said that Hardy's participation was surprise for all and everyone recognised the actor at the venue.

“Everyone recognised him but he was very humble and was happy to take time out for people to take photographs with him. It was a real pleasure to have him compete at our event.
