Tyson Fury praises Vijender Singh, expects him to win world title

Ahead of his WWE Crown Jewel fight, Tyson Fury talks about his thoughts on Indian boxing and praises Vijender Singh. Know more about the Gypsy King's thoughts.

Undefeated Heavyweight Boxer Tyson Fury wants Vijender Singh to win a world title someday in future and feels that he is the perfect man to lead Indian boxing. Fury has taken a break from the boxing ring and he is focussed on his upcoming WWE match against Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel for the moment. However, The Gypsy King is expected to return inside the boxing ring in next year against Deontay Wilder for the epic re-match. In the meantime, there are speculations over his WWE contract, MMA debut and boxing status but there are sudden rumours buzzing about The Gypsy King’s fight in India after a recent media interaction.

Boxing: Tyson Fury vs Vijender Singh in future?

It won’t be shocking if The Gypsy King decides to face Vijender Singh in India someday. Tyson Fury praises Indian boxing and feels that India is a great country for the sport of boxing. In an international media conference call, Fury said that “It (boxing) is very big in India. You have a great boxer in Vijender Singh and I hope he can go on to win the World title”. Vijender Singh was the first Indian to win the Olympic medal for boxing and the first Indian to win a regional WBO title. Singh’s professional record holds 11 wins with no losses and it has surely caught the eyes of Tyson Fury.

Vijender Singh has reportedly signed a contract with Top Rank Promotions last year and made his US debut by knocking out Mike Snider in the fourth round of the match. Earlier, this month Vijender Singh expressed his aim at a World title in 2020 and Tyson Fury ‘The Gypsy King’ wants him to get his hands on the title. Fury has also expressed his urge for fighting in India and Indian boxing fans are thrilled to hear the news. Tyson Fury is undoubtedly one of the best-undefeated boxers of all time and it can’t be better if he decides to fight Vijender Singh in India.

“I would love to come to India and fight there. Hopefully, it will happen in the future” said Tyson Fury.

Boxing: Tyson Fury on Amateur Boxing

Fury further expressed his discomfort over the Olympic Committee’s suspension of AIBA from the Tokyo Olympics. According to The Gypsy King, it is very important that amateur boxing continues so that we can have professional champions of the future. The current turmoil in the amateur body, International Boxing upsets The Gypsy King and he feels that it will impact professional boxing as well.
