Vinesh Phogat's Petition Dismissed By CAS, No Medal For India
An Operative Order by the CAS has confirmed that Vinesh Phogat's plea to reward her with a Silver Medal has been dismissed.

- Vinesh Phogat participated in lower weight class of 50kg women's freestyle wrestling compared to her natural weight class of 53kg. However, Phogat h a sensational run despite weight cut as he beat number one seed Yui Susaki in first round and went strength to strength to reach finals
- However, on morning of her Gold Medal match, heart breaking news came out that Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from Olympics after being found 100 grams overweight. Phogat h put on excess 2.7kg in rebound weight gain over Day 1, and despite taking all necessary measures was only able to shed 2.6 kg overnight and missing required mark
- Vinesh Phogat last however filed an appeal to Court of Arbitration for Sports to be given at least a Silver Medal at Olympics
- CAS -hoc division, set up especially for dispute resolution during Games, h accepted Vinesh's appeal against her disqualification on Friday. It was revealed that a decision would come out on 11th August, however Verdict was deferred till August 13th
