Cardio is responsible for burning calories and it burns the overall calories when performed regularly with moderated intensity. But when it comes to having a jacked physique, with a normal frame of muscle mass, lifting weight is the only option.

There is no doubt that cardio burns more calories than weight training but fitness is not just about burning calories, it is all about the overall physical enhancement in terms of focusing on the growth and the structure of the body. Cardio improves heart health but it doesn't support the joints and bones whereas weight training enhances endurance and stamina along with providing a frame to the body. Weight training also contributes a lot towards improving heart health, but it has to be performed moderately.

Weight training workout doesn't burn as much calories as a cardio workout does but it has several other benefits. Weight training is considered to be more effective than cardio in building muscle.

Though it has been a topic of discussion that Cardio is responsible for burning more calories, researchers have found that if weight training is performed regularly with a little bit of more intensity then burning fat and losing weight will be more effective than cardio.
