Chhatrasal Stadium Case: Wrestler Sushil Kumar 'kingpin, witnesses terrified' says Police

Sushil Kumar is kingpin of Chhatrasal Stium case and witnesses are terrified of him, Delhi Police told Delhi High Court while opposing bail plea filed by Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar.

In an affidavit filed before high court, police told court, " victims/witnesses of case are so terrified from accused Sushil Kumar and his associates that one of victim/witnesses of case, namely Amit Kumar h filed a writ petition, before Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, for protection."

police furr told court that he is "kingpin" of Chhatrasal case and shall not be granted bail. 

"Accused Sushil Kumar is Kingpin of present case. He conspired along with or co-accused persons, arranged men and weapons including dreed criminals of Haryana and Delhi and n abducted victims from different areas and committed this offence," affidavit filed by police re.

"This fact is corroborated by presence of about 20 culprits at spot with weapons and recovery of seven (7) vehicles from spot belonging to various culprits arrested in present case. Several mobile phones and weapons were recovered from se vehicles, at spot," it ded.

court was furr informed by Delhi Police that accused Sushil Kumar is a very influential and high profile person. re is every likelihood of his influencing/threatening witnesses. He is a globetrotter and may jump bail if granted to him.

It was also submitted via affidavit that Sushil has a criminal history and has his involvement in or cases too over which investigation is going on.

police also stated that just prior to this incident, accused Sushil Kumar, armed with a Pistol, along with his associates h beaten some of trainee wrestlers at Chhatrasal Stium and h robbed m of ir mobile phones.

status report comes in response to petition filed by Olympic medalist seeking bail in a case relating to murder of Sagar Rana in Chhatrasal Stium. Senior vocate Sidharth Luthra and vocate Preep Rana appeared for wrestler Sushil Kumar.

In his plea, wrestler mentioned that police have established false information and presented a 'false and guilty' image of him in front of media. According to plea, police have wrongly linked him to renowned gangsters. 

In bail plea, Sushil Kumar also emphasised that police left no stone unturned to present a ‘false and guilty image’ of him and fed false information to media to wrongfully establish a connection between him and renowned gangsters.
