Coronavirus F1: The season has already seen races being cancelled so far, but the British Grand Prix will go ahead as planned, albeit without fans in attendance

wait for F1 season to get underway could finally be over after Silverstone circuit owners tweeted that this year’s British Grand Prix will take place, albeit without fans. Silverstone’s owners said that a race “under rmal conditions is just t going to be possible” because of coronavirus. coronavirus F1 outbreak has already seen races being cancelled so far and it earlier looked like wait for F1 season to get underway was only getting longer.

In his letter to F1 fans, Silverstone managing director Stuart Pringle wrote that he was extremely disappointed to inform fans that this year’s British Grand Prix will t be std in front of fans at Silverstone. He furr wrote that this difficult decision was kept on hold as long as possible, but w that it is very much clear given current conditions in country and government requirements in place w and for foreseeable future, that a British Grand Prix under rmal conditions is just t going to be possible.
letter furr mentioned that Silverstone is looking at health and safety of everyone involved in preparing and delivering British Grand Prix event and of course, amazing fans, and for that, this is best, safest and only decision which could be made. He furr said that organisers of British Grand Prix have consistently said that should y find mselves in this position, y will support Formula One as y seek to find alternative ways to enable F1 racing to take place this year.

Coronavirus F1: French Grand Prix cancelled
While British Grand Prix could take place behind closed doors, French Grand Prix, which was due to take place on 28 June, was called off by F1 due to coronavirus pandemic. According to a report in Guardian, Eric Boullier, managing director of French Grand Prix, said that given evolution of situation linked to spread of coronavirus pandemic, French Grand Prix took te of decisions anunced by French State making it impossible to maintain event.

Coronavirus F1: Chase Carey on cancellation of French Grand Prix
Chase Carey, chairman and chief executive officer of F1 added that organisation was in close contact with French promoters during coronavirus pandemic and while it is disappointing for fans and F1 community that French Grand Prix will t take place, F1 fully supports decision taken by French authorities in France and look forward to being back at Paul Ricard soon.
