India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi Etches Name in Record Books After Securing a Ton Against Australia U19

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the Bihar -based 13-year-old sensation, has etched his name in the history books after he secured a ton against Australia U19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India. He recorded the fastest-ever hundred for Team India U19 in red-ball cricket after scoring a 100 in just 58 balls. The 13-year-old southpaw batsman came in strong on Day 1 to give India an explosive start on Monday. India U19 started Day 2 at 103 for 0 in 14 overs, and the young Suryavanshi was swift to score his maiden Youth century.

Young Suryavanshi's batting approach has been likened with one of India's most formidable openers, Shikhar Dhawan. Suryavanshi's 58-ball century trails former England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who scored a ton in 56 balls for England under-19 back in 2005. Vaibhav's massive knock included 14 boundaries and four sixes. While he was dismissed via run out for 104 in 62 deliveries, India strongly responded to Australia's first innings total of 293.
