A debut international century is an enormous accomplishment, and in the second Twenty20 International, Abhishek Sharma unloaded an inferno against the Zimbabwean bowlers. The opener discussed his innings and gave a particular appreciation to Shubman Gill for lending him his bat for the innings in a video that the BCCI posted on X (formerly Twitter). The opener then called on his family, who, having witnessed his blistering knock, appeared overjoyed. Abhishek Sharma then called the legendary Yuvraj Singh, who was his mentor. Singh complimented him on his amazing performance against Zimbabwe.
"I'm very proud. You deserve it. Many more to come, this is just the start," said Yuvraj.
Abhishek then revealed his conversation with the former Indian batter, revealing that he was still happy even though the opener walked back for a duck and that it was a good start.
"I spoke to him yesterday (Saturday) also, and I don't know why he was very happy when I got out on zero. He said that's a good start but he must be very happy and proud just like my family," said Abhishek.

The bowling was also impressive, as Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar both claimed three wickets to halt Zimbabwe's momentum.
