Abu Dhabi T10: Robin Singh bats for Indian presence in League
Former India all-rounder Robin Singh will coach Northern Warriors in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League. Northern Warriors won the previous edition in 2018.

Former India all-rounder turned coach Robin Singh is all set to coach the Northern Warriors in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League. Northern Warriors, who won the previous edition in 2018, will begin their title-defence this year against Maratha Arabians on November 15. He will also be coaching Indian cricketer Pravin Tambe during his stint with the 2018 winners.

Speaking about the team composition for the upcoming tournament, Robin Singh felt that they have a very balanced team who are confident of defending their title this season. The 56-year old hoped that the team plays some exciting cricket this season and was also very supportive of the team management.

However, when he was asked about BCCI’s policy of not allowing current Indian cricketers in outside leagues, the former player believes that it would be nice to have them around if allowed. Former cricketer, who represented India in 136 ODI’s, bats for the greater presence of Indian players in the lucrative Abu Dhabi T10 League. Robin Singh’s idea was also backed by his former teammate Zaheer Khan. Former Indian fast-bowler said that it would be great to see more Indian players expressing themselves by participating in the league.
Meanwhile, the 2011 World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh recently joined Maratha Arabians as their ‘Icon Player’. Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket earlier this year.

2019 Abu Dhabi T10 League
The third edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league will commence from November 15. The 10-overs-a-side tournament will run for nine days and it will feature 8 teams, just like the previous edition. After its successful debut in 2017, the tournament has gained widespread popularity from the cricketing community, making it one of the highly-anticipated limited-overs competition of the year. Heavyweights from all over the world will once again be participating in the annual tournament as all eight teams gear up to earn the coveted T10 title.
