Tall Afghanistan fan Sher Khan struggles to find hotel in Lucknow

Afghanistan are currently playing West Indies in the 1st ODI match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Rashid Khan-led side will play a three-match ODI series and  T20I series before rounding the series with a lone Test. Afghanistan enjoys 3-2  lead in head-to-head record against the Windies and will be looking to increase the lead in the series.

The match may not grab a lot of attention from the cricket fan but a visiting Afghan fan has certainly grabbed the headline. A leading media house reported a story where he failed to find accommodation in the city due to ‘height’ issues.

Sher Khan denied accommodation

Sher Khan, an 8 feet 2-inch tall cricket fan from Kabul struggled to find accommodation for almost three days in Lucknow only to be denied because of his height and appearance.

After much struggle, Sher Khan reached the Naka Police Station who after verifying his documents and credentials, helped him find a place to stay.

Earlier, Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan had said that his side will look to play smart cricket in the ODI series against the West Indies even though their batsmen has the power to clear the ropes. On the other hand, West Indies skipper KieronPollard had said that each and every player in the WI team is good in their own right to show what they have to offer

Afghanistan game in Lucknow will be their first having moved base from Dehradun. They begin their series against West Indies, amidst poor air quality. Earlier India and Bangladesh played in New Delhi a few days ago in spite of severe air quality concerns.
