Salman Agha suffers grievous injury

During the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 clash between Pakistan and India at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium, Pakistan's batsman Agha Salman narrowly avoided a career-threatening injury. The critical moment occurred in the 21st over when Salman attempted a sweep shot against off-spinner Ravindra Jadeja. In a risky move, Salman was not wearing a helmet, and unfortunately, the ball struck the top edge of his bat, making direct contact with his face just below his right eye.

In photos and videos doing rounds on social media, Salman could be seen bleeding with Indian wicket-keeper KL Rahul providing him some assistance. The incident immediately drew the attention of the nearby fielders, who rushed to check on Salman's condition. The Pakistan team's physiotherapist and doctor quickly reached the scene to provide medical assistance.

Thankfully, after a thorough assessment by the doctor and physiotherapist, Salman was deemed fit to continue. They also conducted a concussion test to ensure his well-being. At that point in the match, Pakistan were struggling at 83 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Since then, Pakistan has lost another wicket in the form of Salman, who has been dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 23 off 32 balls.
