Aakash Chopra wants Chahal to be part of the Indian team's World Cup squad
Aakash Chopra has voiced his opinion on the decision to select Yuzvendra Chahal over Axar Patel for the Indian World Cup team. On Tuesday, September 5, the 15-person preliminary squad for the forthcoming international competition, slated to take place in India from October 5 to November 19, is expected to be presented. Chahal's inclusion in the World Cup roster is in doubt given that he is not currently a member of the 17-man Indian team competing in the upcoming Asia Cup.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra recognized that it could be difficult for players to make India's World Cup roster if they are not on the Asia Cup team. He emphasises his confidence in Yuzvendra Chahal's capacity to help the team, but he is adamant that the spinner deserves significant consideration.

The 17 that are there, I am not assuming anyone to come from outside, although Yuzi Chahal and Shikhar Dhawan are not there. I feel Yuzi Chahal should be talked about but it's not happening.
Why am I saying that he should be talked about? I love Axar to bits but Jadeja and Axar are similar kinds of left-arm spinners and similar kinds of batters as well, and you will have both of them playing together.

How has Yuzvendra Chahal performed for India in the ODIs?
With 121 wickets in 69 innings and a commendable economy rate of 5.26, Yuzvendra Chahal has a stellar record in One Day Internationals (ODIs). His recent efforts, meanwhile, have not shown his full potential; therefore, Kuldeep Yadav has taken over as the team's main wrist spinner for India. Due to this shift in the team's dynamics, Chahal's position has come under scrutiny, and his current performance will likely have a significant impact on the selectors' decision to include him on India's World Cup squad. He is not part of the Asia Cup but has a chance to play in the upcoming matches against Australia if he is picked by the selectors in India’s last preparation before the WC.
